Visiting HSR in Rapperswil
Sophia and I visited an old friend at the Hochschule für Technik in Rapperswil (HSR). The buildings of the HSR can be seen in the background on the left along the shore of the Zürchersee. Rapperswil is yet another beautiful town with a castle.
Hiking up the hill towards the castle provides a typical view of the town and many of its hundreds of years old houses. For instance, over one of the house doors it said 1665.
The castle is on the top of the hill. It is relatively small but has an interesting tower with several magnificent clocks seen better in the next picture.
Note that the sundial displays the “correct” time, whereas the clocks are following the daylight savings time rule, in Switzerland also known as Sommerzeit, i.e., summer time.
