Some Six Hundred Years Ago…

And so we visited yet another castle, however, this time it “merely” provided the backdrop for a medieval scene with many crafts people and soldiers.

Let’s start with the food. The lady on the left is preparing some waffles and they looked quite tasty. But that initial impression was about to change (see the beans below).

Next, the “real” food was served consisting mostly of beans, radishes, and some bread. Not surprisingly, all the paying guests stood in line for the Bratwurst and Bürli (brat and roll), instead!

This poor guy, actually the cook who made the beans, had to clean the plates the old-fashioned, i.e., the 600-years old way.

Of course, we found many “regular” (modulo a few hundred years) people chatting and going along their business. Everything was quite low-key, except for the rifles which were literally spitting fire and smoke.

And this is the castle, Schloss Lenzburg.
