Purple Park
Surprisingly to some, maybe, many walls and trains in Switzerland are full of graffiti. As we tried to find the back entrance to the train station the other day, we discovered the “Purple Park,” a gorgeous skate park in a neighborhood of Basel full of small stores.
Here are a few examples, including the eery eye, from the main building. The last of these four pictures provides a glimpse of the neighboring building, which is very different in style, yet cool as well.
The graffiti on the building is part of an art project. However, all other walls are free for anybody to paint on.
These are some of the walls that are open for anybody to do their art work. Interestingly, according to the team’s web site, the written rule about this seems to be “to show mutual respect … and you know what that means.” I love it that such a simple and reasonable(!) rule is all it takes.
And here is the building just next to the skate park with no two windows the same, or so it seems.
